Al Qaismi will display a new body of work on 100 bus shelters across all five boroughs. For this exhibition, Al Qasimi has realized a new series of photographs that isolate and highlight the beauty of fleeting moments in the chaos of New York City. Al Qasimi’s practice pushes the boundaries of conventional portraiture through her richly textured photographs camouflaging figures with color and pattern. With a distinct photographic approach, Al Qasimi’s meticulous compositions capture vibrant instances of personalization and adornment that break through the anonymity of the city.
